Our Story. Our Mission. Our Community.
The Triangle Blind Golfers Association exists to ensure blind and visually impaired golfers in the Triangle area have access to the game, guidance to play with confidence, and a supportive community on and off the course.
About the Triangle Blind Golfers Association
Empowering blind and visually impaired golfers in the Triangle area through access, instruction, and community.
Our Founder
The Triangle Blind Golfers Association was founded by James Davis, a lifelong golfer who recognized the powerful role the game can play in the lives of blind and visually impaired individuals. What began as a personal passion grew into a mission to help others experience the same confidence, independence, and community through golf. Under his leadership, TBGA has grown into a volunteer-driven organization committed to inclusion, dignity, and opportunity.
At the heart of TBGA is a belief that access creates opportunity.
Golf Without Limits
The Triangle Blind Golfers Association was founded on a simple belief: vision loss should never be a barrier to participation, independence, or belonging. Through guided instruction, on-course assistance, and a strong sense of community, we help golfers experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of the game at every stage of life.
That belief guides everything we do.
Our Mission
The mission of the Triangle Blind Golfers Association is to provide blind and low-vision individuals with meaningful opportunities to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf. We focus on removing barriers, fostering confidence, and creating an environment where golfers feel supported, capable, and respected both on and off the course.
Inclusive Golf Access

Supportive Guidance
Trained volunteers who provide clear communication and on-course assistance.
Community Connection

How We Serve the Community
Our programs are built through collaboration, generosity, and a shared commitment to access.
Impact That Goes Beyond the Course
Every golfer’s experience with the Triangle Blind Golfers Association is unique, but the impact is shared. Participants often describe increased confidence, renewed independence, and a sense of belonging that extends far beyond the course. Through patience, encouragement, and community, TBGA helps golfers discover that the course is not a barrier, but a place of possibility. For many golfers, TBGA becomes a place where confidence returns and possibility expands.
