Golf Is Still for You
Vision loss does not mean giving up the game of golf or the opportunity to try something new. The Triangle Blind Golfers Association provides blind and visually impaired individuals with a safe, supportive way to experience golf through guided instruction, on-course assistance, and community connection. Our program is intentionally designed to remove barriers and replace uncertainty with confidence. Whether you are new to golf or returning after vision loss, you are welcome here.
No Experience Required
Many golfers join TBGA having never played golf before. Others return to the game after time away. Both paths are equally supported. There is no pressure to perform and no expectation to already know the game. Instruction is patient, paced, and tailored to each golfer’s comfort level. You are encouraged to learn at your own pace in an environment built on encouragement, respect, and dignity.
At the heart of TBGA is the belief that access creates opportunity. That belief shapes how we support every golfer who joins our program.
Guided and Supported Play
Each golfer is paired with a trained sighted guide who provides verbal direction, alignment assistance, distance information, and course awareness. Guides are there to support you, not rush you. You are never expected to navigate the course alone. Our priority is your safety, confidence, and comfort throughout every session.
That purpose shapes how we guide, support, and walk beside every golfer.

What Participation Looks Like
Golfers participating in the Triangle Blind Golfers Association can expect a structured, welcoming experience focused on learning, safety, and enjoyment. Typical participation includes: ✅ Golf instruction and practice sessions ✅ Guided on-course play ✅ One-on-one assistance from trained volunteers ✅ A calm, encouraging environment To maintain a safe and supportive experience, the number of golfers in each session is limited. This allows our team and volunteer guides to provide meaningful individual attention to every participant.
Equipment and Accessibility
Golf equipment is available when needed through the program. Golfers who already own equipment are welcome to use it. We work closely with course partners and volunteers to ensure environments are accessible, safe, and comfortable for blind and visually impaired participants. If you have specific accessibility needs or concerns, we encourage you to share them with us so we can best support you.
Who Can Join?
You may be a great fit for the Triangle Blind Golfers Association if you are: ✅ Blind or visually impaired ✅ Interested in learning or playing golf ✅ Looking for a respectful, supportive environment ✅ Open to guided instruction and participation Golf experience is not required. Curiosity, willingness, and interest are enough to get started.
Limited Availability
TBGA limits participation to ensure every golfer receives proper guidance, support, and attention. Availability may vary based on session schedules, volunteer support, and seasonal programming. We encourage interested golfers to reach out early to discuss current availability or placement on a future session list.
